Advice for my teenage self.

What advice would you give to your teenage self?
- Masking your autism will kill you. Destroying your identity and spending all of your time worrying about hiding your autism fills every moment with anxiety and leaves tou unfulfilled. Never settle for friends that only care about the fake you when you can be yourself and gain friends that care about the real you.
- Psychiatric and ADHD medications will never make you magically neurotypical and the years you can spend in a psychiatrist office you can also spend making friends and having fun while being yourself.
- Don’t wait to do anything. I can’t count how many things I regret not doing in that time of very few big responsibilities.
Overall, way too much time was spent worrying about what others thought of me and consequences. I think if I had taken more risks and stopped listening to the adults around me I would have had some more eventful teenage years.
Though, I also would like to hear others’ advice to their teenage selves. Leave a comment maybe?
