I'm excited about my state's politics (Maine)

I am very excited about Maine politics recently. I was very enthusiastic about the Platner campaign up until he had some serious allegations come out. I am hopeful that Troy Jackson is chosen to run against dusty old Collins and finally our state will have some good representation.
A thing that I’ve noticed recently is that ever since Platner the entire country seems to have their eyes on Maine because of the progressive politics that is being pushed onto a national level from our state, and now the torch being held by Troy Jackson, the “son-of-a-bitch, socialist cocksucker” according to Paul LePage.
The reason why I am so excited is because I see left wing populism finally gaining a grip on the US political system and with that we might see universal healthcare, taxes on the rich, business regulation, and a national minimum wage increase within the next decade or two and that thought of a brighter country makes me happy.
